Me in front of a tiled wall at the Museu Nacional do Azulejo in Lisbon, Portugal

Hi there... my name is Kathrin Wilfong. I'd like to share a bit of my personal background with you, so you know more about the actual person, artist and illustrator behind ILLUSTRATIONARY.ART.

I'm a child of two continents and therefore have roots in the U.S.A., Germany and Croatia - due to a huge international patchwork of family and lifetime friends. Now, I'm living in the city of Munich, Germany. - I'm a very proud mom, happy wife and devoted nature lover... the latter surely comes across with my choice of subject matter in plenty of my projects!

When I’m not lost in a sea of patterns or sketching botanical details, you’ll likely find me baking cookies, traveling the world or exploring some sort of museum for new inspiration. ;-)

I've always been eager to learn about cultures, people, countries and languages and how each one of these aspects is expressed throughout the world in many ways. Museums are simply a fabulous way to explore all of these aspects at once. Understanding and conveying e.g. cultural or nature-related aspects (amongst others) is one of the most important tasks and duties of art, I'd say. This is why I also deem it an important part of my work to create art with a soul and meaning.

Art you can relate to. Art you find inspiring. Art you wish to share... like me. :)

Well, I hope I was able to put a face to a name for you!

And if you fancy working with me:

Cheers, KAT
